(Frequently Asked Questions)

Every project is an enigma, every answer a piece of the puzzle. Discover here the keys to better understanding the world and approach of Enigami Factory.

Why hire an architect when I can do it with software like Paint?

We don't doubt your Paint skills, but here, we're talking about a much higher level! Creating an immersive space isn't just about drawing rectangles and choosing colors (even if we love turquoise). It's a complex mix of engineering, storytelling, and compliance with standards.

We think of everything:

  • Circulation (because no one likes dead ends).
  • Safety and accessibility standards (yes, even for secret staircases).
  • Space optimization to maximize the customer experience (and your profits).
  • And above all, we bring your ideas to life with technical and artistic expertise that Paint (as fun as it is) can never match.

With us, your project goes from a cool sketch to an incredible experience that engages and retains your audience. All without bugs or fuzzy pixels.

Why use an architectural firm specializing in experiential spaces?

Good question! We create spaces that tell stories, captivate your visitors, and boost your business. By working with us, you gain a unique experience for your customers, a design that reflects your identity, and a lasting impact. And yes, that can also mean more visitors, more emotions, and more success!

When does the architect become indispensable?

If your project requires planning permission or significant alterations, an architect is essential.

It's a bit like a show: you may be able to manage the backstage, but to make the stage shine, you need a director! 🎭

Do I have to be a professional to benefit from your services?

Not at all! We work with everyone: ambitious entrepreneurs, brands dreaming of a magical place, and even individuals with a project that excites them. Whether you're a seasoned expert or a novice with a brilliant idea, we're here to turn your dreams into immersive reality.

What do you need before you start?

Simple:

  • You sign the quote or contract (we love official beginnings).
You fill out our questionnaire to tell us everything about your project, your desires, and even your wildest dreams.
We schedule a meeting, by video or in person, to fully immerse ourselves in your vision and lay the foundations for your future extraordinary space.

And there you have it, the beginning of an epic collaboration! 🚀

I have €30,000 to fit out a 140m² space, is it feasible?

Um... at that price, you might get electricity, but not much more. 😅
For an initial estimate, be aware that a complete renovation often costs more than expected. To estimate, you need a project! We always recommend talking with us before signing anything (lease or otherwise), to get a realistic idea of the budget (spoiler: budgeting too little for the cost of the work can become a real headache).

What is an ERP file, and am I required to do it?

An ERP (Establissement Receiving the Public) is an establishment open to the public. If you welcome visitors to your space (and not just your colleagues), it's essential. This document is there to ensure that your venue complies with safety and accessibility regulations.
Don't want to do it? Be aware that if something goes wrong, you risk closure, fines, and even criminal prosecution. In short, it's best to play the compliance card (and that's what we're here for).

How long does a project take?

It depends on the size and complexity of your project and your willingness to communicate quickly.

Here are some estimates:

  • Leisure architecture projects: It varies, but plan on several months or even years (yes, Rome wasn't built in a day either).
  • Showcase design: 2 to 4 weeks if you're extremely responsive to feedback.
  • Commercial architecture: 1 to 3 months for design + 4 months for prior approvals before work begins.

But don't panic; we'll build a solid schedule together from the start.

Is it possible to work remotely?

Oh yes! Thanks to the wonders of technology, we can work with you wherever you are (even from your hammock in Bali). We use video conferencing, email, and file sharing tools to stay connected throughout the project. Bonus: no commute, but the same creativity and efficiency as in-person!

On the other hand, we prefer to be honest: monitoring a construction site remotely is a bit like trying to assemble an IKEA piece of furniture while watching a YouTube tutorial on time-shift... doable, but not ideal. 😅 For this project, nothing beats a good pair of eyes on site (and a hard hat for style).

A question that remains unanswered?

Don’t panic, we’re here to clear up any doubts you may have! Send us an email or slide into our DMs on Instagram. We’re always ready to talk about projects and answer your questions (except maybe “why does toast always fall buttered side down”… that’s a bit of a stretch).
